This Guy Should Come Back to the Show

by Trapp

Marcel Hossa according to a Slovakian newspaper Hossa is returning to the KHL team Dinamo Riga. This isn’t his first stint with this particular club. Hossa joined this club at the end of the 2007-2008 season.

Following his brother Marian’s footsteps he played for the Portland Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League. He had two very good seasons with this club and it landed him a 1st round pick, 16th overall to the Montreal Canadiens. Couple seasons in Canada didn’t really work out, went to the New York Rangers in a trade for Garth Murray. I don’t think he was used correctly and effectively in New York. They put him on a line with Jagr and Michael Nylander and immediately this guy played well.

You put me with Jagr and Nylander I might do well but the point is when this guy was put with good offensive minded players, the best in the younger Hossa came out. After he left the show and went to the show’s understudy, that being the KHL he lead his club in goals and was in the all star game over there on team Jagr. Even got a hat trick in that game. International game is completely different from the NHL but, if this guy came back I think he’d find more success in the NHL now than he ever had.

Definitely would be sick to see him back in the league. For now, we get to watch his youtube highlights be announced in Russian. Better than nothing.
